::Bending the Rules::

So last night I had a senior session with Madeline, and she had requested a silhouette shot of her and her man. I took a few of the standard type…but then my creative juices started flowing and I wanted to change it up a bit. As I looked at them there in the sunset, the light, the water, the moment was so beautiful I wanted to create something different. Something unexpected. Something that conveyed the romance in a soft, unique way.

I have always loved all types of art. I really got into pottery and ceramics a few years back, some sculpture, tile making, and I especially loved my wheel and throwing pots and sinks. Another form of art I  loved to dabble in was water coloring. I feel so relaxed when I am in my artistic element, I just get into the zone…Once I had my girls it was pretty much impossible to find time for it clay, or painting but I know I will have plenty of time for them in the future. Photography gives me a way to incorporate my art along with my family and I am absolutely loving what I do.

Anyways I don’t know why I went off into that little blurb of information… I guess I was trying to let you know that I got a vision of them standing there in the sunlight but I got a watercolor vision, if you will, and I wanted to create that sort of modern image. Sooooo….here is how I did it! I through my camera into Manuel focus, metered for the background and blurred them into the sunset….Sometimes it is fun to bend the rules a bit. I love it when my mind’s eye sees something and I am able to recreate it so that you can see what I am seeing…. Okay, now I want to know what  YOU think!?

{more from Madeline’s session in the near future, just wanted to share this one with everyone}
