The day had finally arrived. The day they had been waiting for. The day that would forever change the rest of their lives. “For better or for worse, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.” On a bright Saturday morning, surrounded by the incredible beauty of the outdoors, with the intimacy of only their families, Ali and Mark said “I do” Sept 4th, 2010.
As I drove up to the destination I quickly realized that the setting was absolutely matchless. Truly, a one of a kind, place. I threw my camera gear together and began shooting…everything.
There were so many things about this day that made me smile… in particular 6 years ago on Sept 4th, 2004, I married the love of my life in a similar intimate setting. We too had only family and a few close friends join us as we vowed to love and cherish each other forever. It was our perfect day.
Many times throughout Ali & Mark’s day I would reflect back onto my own wedding day & just the little details that made it special to me. The details in Ali & Mark’s wedding were literally all around me. The sky, flowers and plants, grasshoppers, pine cones, trees, the mountain scape…I knew that though there weren’t many man made or placed details to photograph, that there were plenty of elements surrounding me definitely worthy of capturing. Elements that certainly made the day what it was. Their perfect day.
