Might as Well Jump :: {Woodland, Wa Photographer}

Go ahead and jump…might as well jump! You know the feeling when your kids are not fighting and everyone is actually playing nice, breathing nothing but happy air? Well over the weekend I did manage to  catch a few glimpses of that.

As a kid, I can remember watching my mom make her bed, once she had finished and left the room, the first thing  my lil’ sis and I wanted to do was  jump on up to that inviting spring of freshly made goodness. She wasn’t always thrilled about it & when she would return to the room to find us being crazy & her bed in dismay, she would say something along the lines of “Come on girls, I JUST made that, now get down…”

I pretty much find myself saying the things my mom always told us, of course they get lots of sweet  “I love you’s” and “What a good girl you are!”….but I’m talking about the other phrases, the things you swore you’d never say to your kids.

“Cause I’m the mom and I SAID so, THAT’s why.” I probably WAY over use that one…

“There are starving people in China, now eat your food!”

“Maybe ONE day when you have a family of your own, you can do it that way..but we are doing it my way right now.”

Well last Friday, when I actually made my bed and the girls decided to jump on up there, I just thought, “aww forget it” and I grabbed my camera, and we all started singing. Sometimes, its so great to see them happy and enjoying each other I forget about the messes. Cleaning schmeaning. Work shmerk. Tidy, what’s that?  Happy screams are 100,000 times better than non happy screams. Babies grow to be kids, and from kids its not long before they are teens then off having families of their own! It’s times like these that help me overlook the not so peaceful and often times chaotic side of parenting 3 girls under 4. I cherish these moments. I love fun & I so love to see my babies happy.

so I put my hands up they’re playing my song, and the butterflys fly away, noddin’ my head like yeah, moving my hips like yeah,
