2012 Look Back

Awesome year.

Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who allowed me to capture and freeze memories and moments for you.

I am so grateful for each of you.

This year has been one full of lots of new life, I’ve enjoyed coming into your homes and photographing your family in your own element, with a lifestyle feel. Love the newborn lifestyle sessions and how many I was able to capture this year.

I’ve also enjoyed the families, high school seniors, corporate events and of course the awesome couples and weddings that took place in 2012!

So thank you for making these moments happen.

Thank you for your continued support and love that you all so graciously show me.

I am SO excited for 2013…..seriously……. but without any more rambling…. in no particular order… here is a look back on a spectacular 2012….. (it’s a big post…. bigger is better, right?)

The connection between this couple was undeniable. The way they looked at each other with such love, you just know when some people are exactly meant to be together. As they await the arrival of their first child, you can sense the strong anticipation & excitement for her to make her way into the world.

We started off their session in the studio, then were blessed with a few sunny rays (yes, in January in the PNW) so we ran outside to capture them! Thank you Tina & KC for choosing me to document this very special time in your lives, a time you will be able to look back on, and see the connection that started it all. Congratulations to you both! 2011 was another amazing year! I am so grateful to each and every one of you ~ Thank you for allowing me to document your special moments. Thank you for the laughs, the tears, the honest emotions that make me love my job even more. You treated me as a friend and not just the “photographer”. I’ve learned so much this year and I am so excited for what lies ahead in 2012. In no particular order, here is a loaded…and I mean LOADED…. glimpse into a year that was packed with meaningful moments….hope you enjoy.

“WAR, What is is good for?” :: {Maternity Photographer}

So the evening started off all peaceful-ish and romanti-cal…..two beautiful people and their precious baby boy cookin’ in the oven. Awesome buttery rich light & beautiful country surroundings…. You think we’d leave it at that? Not this time folks….

I have had this itch to do something a little out of the ordinary for a while now…I talked with these two and they were all for my crazy plan & soon enough, a full on paint & glitter war had broken out.

Just gonna be real here ~ my clients are THE BEST, and I love them all for putting up with me, and being so amazing! Tash & Aaron, you guys seriously ROCKED this. So much fun….

Before the world comes to a complete halt with the arrival of your first born child, there is the waiting. The expecting. The anticipation. Once you are as prepared as you can be, all you can do is be patient while that little life grows and takes its form. I love maternity photos for this reason. I love capturing that distinct love between mother and father, a love that knows only each other and a love that that created an entity. There is so much to remember right now, the way life is before. While everyone is anxious & obviously excited to meet and hold fresh life, now is the time to embrace and remember these last moments of just you and your partner, and frankly…. sleep as much as humanly possible!

Our session started out with rain, (which I think made for romantic NOTEBOOK-like photos/ thank you Washington ) which cleared up early on and left us with gorgeous, warm sunny rays. Hope you all enjoy these!
