Thank you to everyone who allowed me to capture and freeze memories and moments for you.

I am so grateful for each of you.

This year has been one full of lots of new life, I’ve enjoyed coming into your homes and photographing your family in your own element, with a lifestyle feel. Love the newborn lifestyle sessions and how many I was able to capture this year.

I’ve also enjoyed the families, high school seniors, corporate events and of course the awesome couples and weddings that took place in 2012!

So thank you for making these moments happen.

Thank you for your continued support and love that you all so graciously show me.

I am SO excited for 2013…..seriously……. but without any more rambling…. in no particular order… here is a look back on a spectacular 2012….. (it’s a big post…. bigger is better, right?)

Last month I was out running errands by myself while my husband kept the kids. It was about lunch time so I thought I’d stop in at a “fast food” sushi wheel place for a bite to eat. I walked in, looked around for a seat and asked a girl sitting alone if I could join her. She smiled and said “Sure”. We made small talk,  she worked across the street at a Burger King and was on her lunch break. After about 5 minuets of chatting, another girl entered the restaurant. She too was  by herself, and sits about 2 chairs from me. I asked her if she’d like to join us, being that  we were all alone, and it’s no fun to eat by yourself! She replied, “Sure, thanks”! (I realize that I probably sound cooky at this point….I won’t deny it.) So we continued our small talk, sometimes elevating it to medium talk. In our short amount of time I gathered that the “Burger King” girl was only eating the $1.00 plates and being very selective with her choices, she made remarks that she’d like to try some other dishes, but it really just added up to quickly. I finished and paid for my meal, told them all to have a great Thanksgiving, thanked them for the company and said goodbye. I walked next door to the frozen yogurt stand for a little desert to top off my lunch (I can’t resist that place). As I was in there I really felt like I should go back and do something more than just talk to those girls, something to just bless them. I walked back into the sushi restaurant and handed them enough money to cover their plates and some extra for them to try out new dishes if they wished.

Now I’m not saying that I’m made of money here. But to see the look on these girls faces was so amazing. They were so taken back by a simple act of giving kindness. They couldn’t believe it. I didn’t get their names, I wasn’t there to hand them a business card or talk about myself. I wanted to genuinely impact their days for the better. Maybe they will pay it forward…maybe they won’t. What matters is MAN it felt good to give.

Next year I’d like to go to the grocery store, buy my essentials and come prepared to pay for the persons groceries in front of me….just because.

I hope you consider spreading an act of kindness this season. A smile, a small chat with someone sitting alone, picking up the tab for strangers….make a difference in someones day.

Happy Holiday’s everyone.

Today I am reflecting on everything I have to be thankful for. I am blessed with a beautiful, healthy family. I have true friends & loving people who support me. A successful business. Clothes. Food in my belly….the list goes on. God has truly given me so much to be happy about.

The other day I was photographing a high school senior in downtown Vancouver. My eyes were opened to the abundance of people with out homes, people just living right there on the streets.

I know there are plenty of people without jobs, people who have lost loved ones, some who are literally starving….. and to think that I have the right to complain about not having enough creamer to put in my coffee this morning…..

Sometimes, I get lost in my own little reality and petty problems. I need a perspective shift. I write this as much to myself as I do to anyone reading it.

WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO BE THANKFUL FOR.

Everyday is a new day to make a choice to live with gratefulness for what you HAVE.

To cherish and love the people around you.

To smile.

To forget worrying about tomorrow, cause what good will that do? THIS is the day to choose to be happy.

To write a POSITIVE Facebook post instead of a negative one.

Today.

I look around me. I have so much….

I am so thankful.

I feel so blessed when I look at these simple photos of my little group. I love my family so very much…I honestly can’t believe how big my baby girls are already! Although it seems like a chore to get everything together for photos, it is always SO worth it. I know what I want for Christmas this year ~ a HUGE wall display of these….

A day at the Oregon Zoo.

Enjoy the moments.

The girls had so much fun. It is getting easier for me to do stuff with them by myself, during the days, while daddy is at work. They are learning to listen better, or maybe I am just getting braver. I don’t dare take on the mall by myself with all three of them, but the beach, with no cars around~ I’m golden. Anyways, point is, yesterday was a much needed day & the images captured totally melt me & will soon be plastered all over my walls. Today we will tackle some of those cobwebs & fingerprints.

I love it when they are sweet to eachother.

I think Brooklyn looked up maybe twice the entire time we were there.

This one of Lainey cracks me up, I swear I don’t know where she gets it! haha
